HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2014-04Suggested by: Administration CITY OF KENAI RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -04 A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, AUTHORIZING A BUDGET TRANSFER WITHIN THE PERSONAL USE FISHERY FUND FOR 2013 OPERATIONAL OVERAGES AND REMAINING FY2014 PURCHASES. WHEREAS, the FY2014 Budget is the first time the Personal Use Fishery has existed as a standalone fund with its own budget; and, WHEREAS, budget variances exist after operations of the fishery requiring budget revision; and, WHEREAS, the experience of the FY2014 Budget will be valuable in preparation of the FY2015 budget and such variance should be minimized in future periods; and, WHEREAS, the administration has identified $75,900 in remaining expenditures for FY2014 in the 2013 Annual Dipnet Report to Council; and, WHEREAS, sufficient budget exists for the $75,900 in remaining expenditures but requires some level of budget adjustment; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Kenai Municipal code 7.25.00 City Budget Control, a budget transfer over $5,000 requires Council approval. This Resolution will amend the budget of the Personal Use Fishery Fund for overages from operations this season as well as provide for the final FY2014 purchases described in the 2013 Dipnet Report. Those purchases include: Police, Personnel $ 6,000 Parks & Recreation, Personnel 6,000 Public Works, Personnel 6,000 Police, Radio 5,000 Fire, Radio 5,000 Fire, RKO Rescue Skid for ATV 3,500 Parks & Recreation, 1/2 Ton 4X4 Pickup 27,000 Police, 4- Wheeler Storage Racks (2) 400 Finance, Software Modifications 1,000 Finance, Security Cameras (2) 1,000 Public Works, Seasonal Water Line Installation to Dock 15.000 Funding for these purchases is available by moving budget around in the fund and no supplemental funding is required.
