HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2014-37CITY OF KENAI RESOLUTION NO. 2014 -37 Suggested by: City Clerk A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, SETTING A DATE FOR HOLDING A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE PROPOSED VIP DRIVE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT. WHEREAS, the City of Kenai has received a petition to form a special assessment district to improve VIP Drive by paving the cul -de -sac; and, WHEREAS, pursuant to KMC 16.10.030, the Council must set a date for holding a public hearing on the proposed Special Assessment District within sixty (60) days from the date of this resolution. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENAI, ALASKA, the date of the public hearing on the proposed VIP Drive Special Assessment District is set for July 16, 2014. The petition was found to be sufficient and was forwarded to the City Manager, who provided a report to the City Council on April 4, 2014. The City Manager submitted the preliminary assessment roll with me on May 2, 2014. Kenai Municipal Code directs, upon the filing of the preliminary assessment roll, the Council, by resolution, must schedule a public hearing within sixty (60) days after the date of setting the public hearing. The suggested public hearing date identified in Resolution No. 2014 -37 is July 16, 2014. This date will allow for the required publishing of the public hearing notice in the newspaper at least once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks and the written notice to be sent by mail to every record owner of property within the proposed local improvement district at least fifteen (15) days prior to the public hearing /SM/
