MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor and Council Members
FROM: Sandra Modigh, City Clerk
DATE: May 13, 2014
SUBJECT: Proposed VIP Drive Special Assessment District
Setting of Public Hearing — Resolution No. 2014 -37
A petition was submitted by property owners along VIP Drive requesting paving of the
cul -de -sac. The petition was found to be sufficient and was forwarded to the City
Manager, who provided a report to the City Council on April 4, 2014. The City Manager
submitted the preliminary assessment roll with me on May 2, 2014.
Kenai Municipal Code directs, upon the filing of the preliminary assessment roll, the
Council, by resolution, must schedule a public hearing within sixty (60) days after the
date of setting the public hearing.
The suggested public hearing date identified in Resolution No. 2014 -37 is July 16, 2014.
This date will allow for the required publishing of the public hearing notice in the
newspaper at least once a week for four (4) consecutive weeks and the written notice to
be sent by mail to every record owner of property within the proposed local
improvement district at least fifteen (15) days prior to the public hearing
