MEETING SUMMARY

Chair Morin called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll was confirmed as follows:

2. AGENDA APPROVAL

Commissioner Peters MOVED to approve the agenda and Commissioner Nelson SECONDED
the motion. There were no objections. SO ORDERED.
3. APPROVAL OF MEETING SUMMARY— May 12, 2014
MOTION:
Commissioner Peters MOVED to approve the meeting summary of May 12, 2014 and
Commissioner Thompson SECONDED the motion. There were no objections. SO ORDERED.
4. PERSONS NOT SCHEDULED TO BE HEARD - None
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
A lay down memo from City Manager Rick Koch addressed the following Unfinished Business
Items:
a. Discussion — Continue to Pursue a Drift Boat Pull -Out Somewhere in the Lower
River, Somewhere in the Vicinity of Cunningham Park
b. Discussion — Seasonal or Permanent Potable Water Line to the Boat Launch Area
c. Discussion — Address Riverbank Degradation Due to Dip Netting and Hunters in the
Area of the Warren Ames Bridge
d. Discussion — An Additional Day of drift Boat Only Fishing on the Kenai River
e. Discussion — Dredging of the Boat Launch Area and City Dock
f. Discussion — Various Other Projects Dealing with Paving, Parking and Other
Improvements at the City Dock /Harbor
g. Discussion — Restoration Project at the Bird Viewing Platform (Kenai Watershed
Forum was /is Overseeing this Project)
Commissioner Thompson asked about the bike trail /path located at Bridge Access Road and K-
Beach Road. Mayor Porter stated that she would provide info on this project.
6. NEW BUSINESS — None
7. REPORTS
a. Public Works Director— Wedemeyer reported that the old cannery had closed
and that employee recruitment was ongoing.
b. Commission Chair — Morin noted that the July meeting may be cancelled.
C. City Council Liaison — Mayor Porter, sitting in for Councilmember Molloy, noted
that the Council was working on the FY15 Budget. She also reported that the
City's redesigned website was up and running. The Mayor stated that the City
was accepting applications for the vacant seat on the Commission.
8. NEXT MEETING ATTENDANCE NOTIFICATION — July 7, 2014
9. COMMISSIONER COMMENTS /QUESTIONS
Commissioner Peters wished the dip netters good luck
Commissioner Morin thanked the City Manager for his memo regarding the Unfinished Business
items.

12. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION:
Commissioner Thompson MOVED to adjourn and Commissioner Peters SECONDED the
motion. There were no objections. SO ORDERED.
There being no further business before the Commission, the meeting was adjourned at 7:52
p.m.
